Volunteer Calendar: Calling all volunteers! We are looking for help to provide additional coverage at the Petsmart store located in Grandville. If your interested in helping with the adoption of cats take a look at the new calendar we have created to help volunteers keep track of the days they can help. If you have some time to donate to this effort please call Cheryl at 231 652-7507.
You can help put an end to pound seizure and inhumane euthanasia! You may know that there are bills in the Michigan House awaiting a hearing that will put an end to pound seizure and inhumane euthanasia in Michigan if passed through the House and the Senate. Mike Huckleberry was one of the cosponsors for the bill banning pound seizure. Copies of these bills are attached. These bills need to come before the House for a hearing in the next several months, or they will die. I urge you to write to your Representative Mike Huckleberry and ask that these be brought up now for a hearing. A brief, kind, hand written note is best. If you are not in Mike's district, please urge your own congressman to ask Mike Huckleberry, newly appointed Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, to bring this bill up for a hearing. There are only 29 other bills awaiting a hearing, which is very few. There have been times in the past when over 100 bills awaited hearing. These are important pieces of legislation for Michigan in terms of animal welfare and public safety. Read the following for more information.
